MedTourEasy is searching for a strategic leader to take on the role of VP of Human Resources. This position will require the building and management of the HR team and serve as a strategic partner and advisor to the executive leadership by developing appropriate human resources and administrative programs to support a growing, entrepreneurial and fast-paced business. This role will also be responsible for establishing MedTourEasy as an employer of choice among the current team members and future employees. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years HR leadership experience and have proven ability to translate the strategic corporate plans into HR operational plans that will be successfully implement through a very hands-on approach.


Essential Functions and Duties

  • Responsible for all people and talent functions, including but not limited to directing all aspects of HR activities with functional groups including organizational structure, staffing, payroll, employee relations, workers compensation claims and legal actions
  • Provide leadership, management and development to the team and lead with a very hands-on approach
  • Works with leadership team to develop and manage total rewards, including but not limited to developing and maintaining benefits plans, pay scales, evaluating compensation plans based on region as well as the industry. Reviewing and evaluating cost-of-living, merit, bonus, and other types compensation programs for management consideration
  • Develops human resources policies and procedures, including but not limited to distribution and training regarding policies and procedures
  • Responsible for Profit Sharing Plan management, including but not limited to initial evaluation of options and recommendation to leadership, initial enrollment and ongoing administration of such a plan
  • Assures that company employment, safety, labor relations, personnel and equal opportunity policies and practices comply with provisions of regulatory agencies
  • Monitors onboarding and training of incoming personnel to ensure department managers are compliant and ensuring success for each new employee
  • Consult with leadership team on leadership development, succession planning, organizational structure, assessment and the impact to the business due to shift in technology, competition, or other business objectives
  • Research, design and implement large-scale organizational interventions; translate new business initiatives into organizational structure/job profiles, span of control, reporting relationships, transitional strategies, workflow and policies and procedures
  • Drive strategic alignment of all HR, people and talent functions with company’s objectives.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of creative HR systems, programs, processes and procedures to meet and support changing and ongoing HR and business needs
  • Counsel employees and all levels of management regarding corrective actions, Performance Improvement Plans, as well as handle appropriate response to discrimination, harassment and privacy complaints, violations, investigations and prevention process
  • Develop, deliver and promote special HR programs, such as Rewards and Recognition Program, Associate Involvement Committee, and Wellness Committee
  • Directly supervise and develop staff of two (2) HR professionals
  • Reports on and analyzes various HR trends and statistics
  • Oversee and drive Performance Management and Merit Increase process to meet the changing and challenging goals of the organization
  • Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends

Minimum Education required: Bachelor’s Degree, advanced degree preferred (Human Resources and/or Psychology) preferred

  • Minimum Experience required: 10+ years relevant HR Generalist experience at the exempt level, preferably in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge and understanding of employee relations, HRMS, benefits, compensation, state and federal employment law
  • Prior responsibility for human resources management required including payroll support, compensation, benefits, talent management, performance management, organizational development, HR administration, employee relations and compliance
  • Prior experience in Change Management with knowledge of current best practices and trends
  • Proven track record of strong leadership skills, high sense of urgency and proactive decision making capabilities
  • Strategic thinker, superior communicator and confident decision-maker
  • Strong appreciation of and focus on culture
  • Travel as needed and commute between Columbus and Shelby locations
